Michael Conforto Out of the Lineup Wednesday

Mets Outfielder Battling Hamstring Injury

Conforto Left Tuesday's Game Early

New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto will be out of the lineup Wednesday when the team takes on the Philadelphia Phillies.

Conforto left Tuesday's game against the Phillies in the third inning with a left hamstring injury.

The Mets are calling the injury a "mild hamstring strain" and are hopeful that Conforto will be able to return to the lineup in the next few days.

Conforto is batting .285 with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs this season.

In Conforto's absence, the Mets are expected to start Billy Hamilton in center field.

The Mets are currently in a tight race for the NL East division title and can't afford to lose Conforto for an extended period of time.

The Mets are hoping that Conforto's injury is not serious and that he will be able to return to the lineup soon.
