Murray Withdraws from Wimbledon, Citing Continued Recovery from Hip Surgery

Andy Murray has withdrawn from Wimbledon, citing his ongoing recovery from hip surgery.

Murray, a two-time Wimbledon champion, had been hoping to make his return to the tournament after missing last year's event. However, he has decided that he is not yet ready to compete at the highest level.

In a statement released on Thursday, Murray said: "I'm extremely disappointed not to be able to play at Wimbledon this year. It's one of my favorite tournaments and I was really looking forward to it, but I'm not yet ready to compete at the level I need to be at."

Murray underwent hip surgery in January 2019 and has been working hard to regain his fitness. He returned to the ATP Tour in June 2020, but has struggled to find his best form.

Murray's withdrawal is a blow to the Wimbledon field, which is already missing several top players, including Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.
